Abstract  A kind of 6-channel bi-directional DC-DC converter for hybrid energy storage system is designed by using interleaved magnetic integration. When the multi-phase magnetic integration is applied to the Bi-directional DC-DC converter, the total output power increases and the current stress of each phase reduces. Moreover, the efficiency of the converter can be improved. In order to solve the problem of difficult implement of multi-phase coupling,a kind of new array matrix topology is put forward which can be used in complicated multi-phase coupling inductors. The design criterion of the optimal coupling degree is determined by considering both the output current ripple and the dynamic response speed.Simulation and experimental results show that comparing with converters by using discrete inductors and converters by using coupled inductors can obviously reduce the phase current ripple, the total output current ripple and the total output voltage ripple with the same response speed as the converters by using discrete inductors.
