The Voltage Flicker Detection Algorithm Based on Rotation Factor Transforming Interpolation

Abstract  The IEC 61000—4—15 standard flicker meter is based on amplitude modulation wave modulated model, which needs a series of complex processes, such as square, filtering and statistical processes. It is inconvenient to design digital flicker meter. From the mathematical model, this paper derived the flicker detection mechanism under IEC standard firstly, and provided a theoretical basis for the design and calibration of digital flicker meter. The flicker detection method based on rotation factor transforming interpolation was proposed, according to the existed problems in IEC flicker detection. Inter-harmonics parameters estimation with a high precision was achieved. Herein, rotation factor transferred the spectra, and the spectrum lines superposition interpolation suppress the spectrum leakage and eliminate the barrier effect. Thereby flicker parameters of inter-harmonics were calculated. As a result, the flicker detection process can be simplified and the detection precision can be improved by eliminating the effects of spectrum leakage. The proposed method can also calculate separated flicker contribution value of multiple amplitude modulation wave components. Simulation results and the measured data show the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method.
