Abstract Based on a one-dimensional magnetic field model of medium frequency transformers (MFT),the analytical equation for the leakage inductance of the MFT is derived with the flux linkage partition method which is based on the characteristics of the magnetic field distribution.On this basis,this paper assumes that the flux is not link or entirely link with the winding which belongs to its region.The derivation process and the final equation of the leakage inductance are simplified by using the average value of these two postulated conditions.The correctness and effectiveness of the method is verified by the comparison of the calculated and measured values.
