Abstract Regarding the service restoration of shipboard electrical power system, a multi agent based modeling and service restoration method is presented. The system is modeled using multi agents, and there is a one-to-one correspondence between each agent in the model and each item (often equipment) modeled in the physical system. Each component in the system is represented by a set of voltage and current variables and equations that describe the component’s behaviors. Real-time data are attached to the model on-the-fly. GTA can decompose system into component-level and system-level object equations. The model avoids a global view or tight-coupling, in which topology changes and calculation can be handled locally. Then depending on negotiation and cooperation between various agents of the model, the power system service restoration problem can be solved. As a result, the proposed method can handle the service restoration issue of the systems with loops and arbitrary number of priority level load. Simulation results have verified the method.
