Abstract  The operation principles and characteristics of series-connected step-up partial power processing DC-DC topology are analyzed in detail. Compared to the conventional Boost converter,zero-voltage-switching (ZVS),lower voltage stress of the switches and diodes, and continuous input/output currents are achieved. Moreover, the small-signal model is derived to show the better dynamic performance because it avoids the right-half-plane zero effect of the Boost converter. Finally,a 1.6 kW prototype circuit is built to validate the performance.
