Abstract  In this paper,the function models of magnetic coupler and the electrical parameters are built firstly.Then the output power and efficiency are taken as the main goal,which might be affected by the structure parameters and the working frequency.After that,the design method for magnetic coupler is proposed with pervasive applicability.A new kind of magnetic coupler is then taken as the case of the method.Through coils combination and proper core structure,the magnetic coupler can improve the charging area in the case of guaranteeing enough power transfer distance.The reasonability of the method is proved by finite element electromagnetic simulation and measured dates.
