Abstract  As the seamless transition between grid-tied and stand-alone modes is one of the technical challenges in distributed generation systems,a seamless transition approach based on the proposed positive component detector(PCD) for grid voltages is presented in this paper for three-phase utility-interactive inverters. The PCD provides the phase angle utilized for calculating the current reference in the grid-tied operation mode, while keeps the constant magnitude and frequency output used as the load voltage reference when the system outage.Once the grid has recovered,it can track the voltage phase so as to avoid the inrush when the inverter is reconnected to the grid. The current reference in the grid-connected mode and the voltage reference in the stand-alone mode are both controlled by the proportion resonance controller in the two phase static coordinate which has the capability of no static error tracking. Finally, the proposed strategy has been verified through experiments.
