Harmony Chaotic Search Optimal Design of Single Winding Bearingless Switched Reluctance Flywheel Motors |

Abstract The position of rotor and stator in switched reluctance motor is exchanged to obtain the single winding bearingless switched reluctance flywheel motor(SWBSRFM), which is more useful for flywheel energy storage .The cost is reduced and the volume of motor is smaller owing to the single windings on stator salient poles. The suspension force and torque are produced by single windings and the stator could direct drive the flywheel with less mechanical transmission. According to the difference of control strategy, new calculation formulas of SWBSRFM parameters is present based on mathematical model. To optimize the structural parameters, harmony chaotic search(HCS) is present which combines the advantages of harmony search and chaotic search. Finite element simulation results prove that: SWBSRFM has compact structure and superior performance, HCS with advantages of simple and convenient in operation could accurately achieve optimal structural parameters in short time.
