Abstract The optimized combination of cooling influence model of LED which based on the theory of the genetic algorithm sets the dimensions of the radiator and the fin parameters as its optimization objective, is in accordance with the research of the relation between the heat transfer and resistance performance and radiator structure parameters. The Matlab programming optimization program and simulation calculation works on the basis of the genetic optimization algorithm steps and process design. Through the comparison between experiment test result with algorithm optimized simulation, it reaches a conclusion that optimized radiator based on genetic algorithm can not only enhance its heat transfer performance, it can reduce its design and operation cost, meanwhile, besides its versatility and practical value, it can be applied to the optimizing design of a variety of thermal radiators for it also reduce a reliance on the designer experience.
