Abstract The phase-locked loop (PLL) plays a vital role in the three-phase voltage source PWM rectifier. This paper proposes a PLL based on the virtual reactive power for three-phase PWM rectifier, using the T/4 (T: the period of three-phase voltage)delay method eliminating the negative sequence and zero sequence component under unbalanced utility, abstrocting the positive sequence component, which implements phase locked through eliminating the virtual reactive power. The phase-locked loop method and the method for abstracting positive sequence component under unbalanced utility are analyzed, A model of three-phase voltage source PWM rectifier which is controlled by TMS320F2812 DSP, is built. Experimental results verify the PLL is feasible and has good performance under unbalanced utility.
