Design of Key Parameters About Two-Stage Magnetic Valve Arc-Suppression Coil |

Abstract Design of parameters about magnetic valve is the most critical issue in the design of two-stage magnetic valve arc-suppression coil. The parameters of magnetic valve include the sectional area and the length. Based on the analysis of magnetic valve arc-suppression coil’s operating current, the formula of fundamental component and the harmonic components in the current are obtained. On this basis, the relationship between the depth of the current regulation, ratio of medium cross section area to the small one, and the magnetic valve’s saturation level are derived. Integrated from four considerations: the economy, regulation curve continuity, guarantee a certain depth of current regulation, and the lowest harmonic level, a set of design method for the magnetic valve parameters is proposed. Finally, according to this method, the parameters of the laboratory prototype are improved, and the results of comparison between the original parameters and the new parameters are satisfied.
