Techniques to Restrain Harmonics of Six-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors |

Abstract The magnet field coupled between the phases of the multi-phase motor would result uncontrolled harmonic currents even though the magnet field distort slightly. The mathematical model of a six-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is established to analysis the reason. In the paper a novel decoupled transform matrix is proposed to decouple the fundamental component and the harmonic components and transfer the different frequency alternating quantities into direct quantities to restrain the harmonic currents. The decoupled control and the conventional control are contrasted by simulation and experiment to verify that the proposed method could restrain the harmonic currents effectively and improve the performance.
