Abstract This paper proposes an integrated structure for EMI filter based on the flexible multi-layer foil (FML foil). The DM windings are designed and all the passive components are integrated in one core. In this paper, the distributed circuit of the filter is given firstly, and then the integrated principle of DM & CM inductance is explained respectively, according to the DM & CM distributed current and equivalent magnetic circuits. The theoretic equations and the main design points are also given. The DM insert loss curves are compared under different DM inductance. The experiments show the proposed structure has smaller volume and better performance, compared with traditional EMI filters.
