Abstract In order to save the energy, a common DC bus AC Drive Systems could be adopted in industrial production. However, it is difficult to establish mathematical model for it because of its complexity. Based on analyzing the structure and characteristics of it, an equivalent circuit model is established using hybrid systems theory. And then, models of controlled power source and the power grids rectifiers are established using a hybrid Petri nets and hybrid automata respectively. So the system model is established completely. Finally, the DC bus power and voltage are simulated in two operating conditions, the treatments in different operating conditions are discussed, and the reasonableness of the proposed model is verified simultaneously.
