Abstract Modular DC/DC Power System for expanding system capacity and improve power supply reliability and flexibility is of great significance. The system consists of a host computer, a monitor screen and multiple DC/DC converter modules. Controller area network (CAN) is applied to the communication among the host computer and the monitor screen and the various modules. System realizes group and unified management by multicast through the CAN-bus to ensure that the number of series and parallel modules to work, reducing communication and computation load, while allowing users to configure the load range of more flexible. For a complex electromagnetic environment of series-parallel system, this paper analyzes the basis of CAN-bus error mechanism in detail and then gives some design principles to improve the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of CAN-bus from the matching impedance, filter Parameter and bus topology. Finally experimental results are given to prove the validity of these designs.
