Abstract:Various methods of estimating the rotor position and speed for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive are reviewed in this paper, and both the advantages and disadvantages are also compared respectively. Next, extend Kalman filter, adequate for middle and high speed, is verified. Most of the sensorless schemes are position self-sensing at zero and low speed, with few speed sensorless schemes adequate for low speed having significant limitations. A novel sensorless scheme application in whole speed based on high frequency signal injection and flux linkage observation are developed for a better solution to this condition, and then the effectiveness is tested by simulation. And finally, the compound control method is considered to be the development trend of full speed sensorless control technology.
