Abstract:Power systems constructed from connecting multiple converter modules in series and/or parallel at both the input and output sides will be broadly applied for their remarkable advantage. Based on the input-parallel output-parallel (IPOP) structure, three modularization structures are proposed for input-parallel output-series (IPOS), input-series output-parallel (ISOP), input-series output-series (ISOS), respectively, in this paper. These proposed structures have the following features: a) basic converter in the connected system can operate in standalone mode; b) no extra controller is needed to regulate the input/output current/voltage distribution. Furthermore, the fault-tolerant function is also included in the proposed structures preventing from one module malfunction. The computer simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed structures.
