Abstract:Rotor eccentricity has great effect on the performance of permanent magnet motors. Based on the method of equivalent remaneance, an analytical prediction of airgap flux density in permanent magnet motors with rotor static eccentricity has been developed, using the governing field equations and boundary conditions. The magnetic field distributions for various relative eccentricity ratio at different radii are calculated and varified by the corresponding finite element analyses. Relevant conclusions are drawn.
