Abstract:The key issue during the design of hybrid automotive relay—the time sequence cooperation of the power electronic device with the traditional electromagnetic relay is theoretical analyzed and calculated in this paper. According to the fundamental principle, a new time sequence model of the hybrid relay is established. The high frequency pulses are adopted to drive the power electronic device to conduct the circuit in dynamic process. And by solving the thermodynamic equilibrium equation, the least pulse width without arc corrosion is gained. Consequently, the time sequence model of hybrid relay is optimized and the heat emitted by power electronic devices would be greatly reduced, so the power electronic device doesn't need cooling fin. This new idea lays a good foundation of the system miniaturization.
