Abstract:The external Volt-Ampere characteristics of the rectifier and inverter station of the voltage sourced converter high voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) system is simplified.The DC network equivalent circuit and the small signal model of the VSC-HVDC system are proposed respectively.The transmission capacity is calculated under small-signal stability constraints and three influence factors,i.e.DC voltage,DC-side capacitance,and line parameters,are also obtained.In addition,to equaviently increase the line resistance,a feed-forward control is introduced in the rectifier in order to further enhance the transmission capacity.Simulation is conducted with the PSCAD/EMTDC software.The simulation results demonstrate that the transmission capacity of the VSC-HVDC system supplying a passive network is remarkablely affected by the DC voltage,the DC-side capacitance,and the resistance and reactance of the DC transmission lines;and the feed-forward control introduced in the rectifier station can greatly enhance the transmission capacity of the system.
