Abstract:A sensorless direct torque control (DTC) method with wide speed range is proposed for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs). The estimation and control of stator flux linkage is very important for DTC. For this reason, in the range of low speed and motionless, the rotating high frequency injection method is employed to calculate the phase inductance in real time, which is used to calculate the stator flux excited by phase currents. The rotor flux is also introduced as the composition of the stator flux. In the range of middle and high speed, the stator flux is estimated by filtering EMF. The combined stator flux estimated method is used to a torque angle based DTC method, and hysteresis method is introduced for the transition between high and low speed. Experimental results show the method has good load capacity in wide speed range containing motionless, and with fine static and dynamic performance.
