Abstract:This paper presents an effective online approach for dead-time compensation of the inverter control using a simple disturbance voltage estimator. According to the rotor dynamics of rotor lagging behind the electromagnetic responses, the proposed estimator builds the relationship between variation of the current(Δ#em/em#ed、Δ#em/em#eq) and the increment of the opposing electromotive force within one sampling period in the synchronous rotating reference frame. Then, the compensation of dead-time effect is carried out feedforwardly in the current control loop. With the proposed method, the dead-time compensation voltage no longer depends on current direction and prevents the compensation error because of the phasing current clamping. Theoretical analysis and measured results demonstrate that this method can obtainproper compensation of dead time voltage in the permanent magnet synchronous motor drive and, smaller proper torque pulsation. And the phasing current harmonic is suppressed effectively.
