Effect of La Doping on Arc Erosion Products of Nanocomposite AgSnO2 Contact Alloys |

Abstract The La-doped nanocomposite AgSnO2 contact alloys are prepared by chemical coprecipitation, high-energy ball milling and general sintering technique. The effects of La doping on properties including the mechanic property, microstructures, and arc erosion products of electrical contact alloys are investigated respectively. Results show that the enrichment zone of Ag and SnO2 are significantly prevented when La is added. Furthermore, the splash of Ag is slight, and arc erosion characteristic of AgSnO2 transforms ‘spray' into ‘evaporation' with increasing doping concentration.
