| Shimming Method for Open MRI Permanent Main Magnet |

Abstract A new shimming method, which is used for open permanent main magnet for MRI, referred to the central magnetic field is proposed in this paper. The procedure of practical shimming and theory of integer linear programming are integrated into the method. The shimming mathematic model is built and solved by Lingo. The impact of small shim array is computed by numerical analyze method. The homogeneity of imaging region is eventually advanced nearly by 50% through numerical analyze and shimming experiment.
