Abstract This paper proposes a redundant control system of dual-winding fault-tolerant permanent magnet(DFPM) motor. The motor is the six-phase ten-pole fault tolerant permanent magnet motor with a centrifugal permanent magnet structure on the surface of its rotor. The stator contains two sets of independent three-phase windings. The system adopts active-active redundant fault-tolerant control strategy based on vector control. At the same time, the system takes the failure diagnosis and redundancy communication strategy. The simulation model is established and the test platform is set up. When the DFPM motor is occurred open-circuit or short-circuit fault, the simulation and experimental results show that the output performance of the DFPM motor still remains the same. The rationality of the DFPM motor design and the correctness of the redundant fault-tolerant control strategy is proved by the test of the open-circuit and short-circuit fault of winding.
