Abstract In order to solve the problem of the heavy direct current accurate measurement in the high-power industry rectifier system, a new measuring method of heavy direct current based on the waveforms measuring in valve currents is presented. According the conventional measuring method and related problems, the corresponding relationship between the current of valve side and DC side are deduced and analyzed by the transformer electromagnetic coupling and switch function method. Then, a detailed measuring scheme is presented from the waveforms measuring of valve currents to direct current inversion and calculation. In last, the simulation and testing results are used to show the correctness and feasibility of the new method, and it is hoped to solve the problem of power supply equipments and system’s efficiency accounting and provide data for energy saving.
