Abstract This paper establishes primary equivalent circuits through the mutual transformer model with primary and secondary side using series and parallel compensation respectively, and primary quality factor design principle is proposed base on resonance characteristics expression simultaneously. The control strategy adopts frequency control mode which controls primary resonant current extreme value by state machine structure. As such, it can make ensure that the resonant converter operating nearly resonant frequency, which ensure the maximum power transfer without getting secondary side information. Finally, some experiment results are presented to verify the proposed method with a 25kW, air gap length 12mm prototypes.
