Abstract The magnetism of ferromagnetic devices becomes the main original magnetism of the low magnetic ship. The numerous ferromagnetic devices make the magnetic origin very complex and this affects the computing velocity seriously. So a simplified modeling method for ferromagnetic devices is presented in this paper. Anexample of a diesel engine in geomagnetic field is given to verify the method’s efficiency and accuracy. The result of the example is satisfying and the proposed method could be applied in the practical engineering.
