Abstract:Two-degree-of-freedom nonsinusoidal current regulation (TDFNSCR) concept is proposed for utility-interface control in distributed generation applications. Unlike the conventional sinusoidal current regulation (SCR) concept, the proposed concept enables both SCR and power quality enhancements in utility. Thevenin-Norton equivalent circuit is provided to clarify how to enhance the power quality, based on which the TDFNSCR solution is proposed. Its unique feature is to achieve the combination control of active filters and power generation without additional compensating devices or any harmonic current sensor, without positioning the harmonic sources as well. Besides, it can be applied both single-phase systems and three-phase systems. The proposed concept is verified by the exhaustive simulations with Matlab/Simulink. The results confirm the concept.
