Abstract:In this paper, firstly a nonlinear magnetic network model considering saturation is proposed for a three-phase 12-stator-slot/10-rotor-pole flux-switching permanent magnet(FSPM) machine, which can predict the open-circuit air-gap field distribution, phase PM flux-linkage, phase electro-motive-force(EMF) with acceptable accuracies. Then, the original nonlinear magnetic network model is improved by taking into account the localized saturation effect and it shows that the initial model enables the electromagnetic performance of FSPM machine to be predicted with more accuracy. Furthermore, two improved models, named multi-PMs model and bypass-bridge model, are proposed respectively to improve the predicting accuracy of electromagnetic performances. Finally, the predicted results from four models are compared by both 2D finite-element(FE) analysis and experimental measurements on a prototype FSPM motor, which validates that the bypass-bridge model can predict the electromagnetic performances with best accuracy.
