Abstract:A novel flux linkage measurement method of 4 phases 8/6 structure switched reluctance motor(SRM) is proposed. 5 flux linkage curves on particular rotor positions are measured with the symmetry of this motor. A high order Fourier series is used to map the nonlinear relationship of flux linkage, current and position, which is applied to construct the model of this motor with measured flux linkage data. The experiment and simulated result identifies the accuracy of proposed method. Compared with finite element method(FEM), equivalent magnetic circuit method and traditional flux linkage measurement method, this method is more practical without extra machine instruments and any prior knowledge of the motor.
