Abstract:In high power occasions such as traction driving system of AC electrical locomotive, selected harmonic elimination pulse width modulation(SHEPWM) is widely used due to the limited highest switching frequency and harmonic performance of output voltage and current. In this paper, the harmonic voltage amplitudes of SHEPWM that are not eliminated are analyzed. Besides, taking induction machine as the load, the current harmonic and the resulted torque pulsation are also researched. Based on these analyses, the performance of SHEPWM can be estimated more clearly and designed basis can be provided for the filters that using SHEPWM.
