Research of Harmonic Elimination Based on Harmonic Injection for Cascaded Inverter

Abstract:In order to reduce the low order harmonic content of output voltage waveform for H bridge cascaded multilevel inverter, a harmonic elimination method is studied through controlling the switch angles of each H bridge.There is considerable difficulty in solving the multi-variable high-order equation system when the method of solving equations is applied to eliminate specified harmonics, a novel method of eliminating specified harmonics based on harmonic injection is presented in this paper.This method is based on equal area criteria and harmonic injection. With the proposed method, regardless of how many voltage levels are involved, only several simple equations and several iterations are needed. Finally, in five H bridge cascaded inverter, simulation and experimental results show the correctness of the proposed method.
