Abstract:The research of start-up performance has been an important issue since the invention of inductor motor. By traditional method, the output torque is sufficient and the output current is so heavy that impacting on electrical source, load, insulation, etc. By AC adjusting speed control, the current restriction of the semiconductor devices must be enough, otherwise will be damaged, which increase cost. In this paper, the reason of heavy current in start-up is explained; a new compound method of DC pre-excitation is proposed. Before starting of motor, the controller makes sure that flux linkage is established in some phase of stator, then turn to vector control as soon as motor start-up. The flux component and torque component are decoupled dynamically based on the above strategy. Simulation and experimental results show that the DC pre-excitation is feasible, and current vary smoothly which avoid significant pulse contrast to other start-up method. Meanwhile output torque response is rapid.
